Zachary Principe
Vice Chair
-
From an early age, Zach was passionate about land protection and restoration. He has been fortunate to have a 30-year career working to protect the amazing diversity of plants and animals that call southern California home. His work includes protecting open space areas and nature preserves to provide critical habitat for plants and animals while also offering people places to get out and enjoy nature. He currently works throughout California managing lands after they have been protected to maximize their ability to support diverse arrays of plants and animals. To achieve this goal, he coordinates use of a wide variety of tools including cattle grazing, prescribed fire and reintroduction of species previously lost to an area. Zach’s free time is mostly spent connecting with nature via hiking and bird watching with his family both locally and wherever life takes them.
