Monserate Mountain sits high above Fallbrook, offering steep trails and panoramic views. Over time, as the region developed and land changed hands, the mountain remained prized for its natural habitat—especially coastal sage scrub—and its visibility as a landmark from much of northern San Diego County.
Since 2013, it has been the location of the “Fallbrook Firefighters 9/11 Memorial Hill Climb,” an annual hike up Monserate in memory of the 343 firefighters who perished on September 11, 2001. This sticker highlights the flag at the top.
